McConnell Statement on Unemployment, Need for Economic Growth

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell made the following statement Friday regarding the need for job creation and economic growth:
“I know the administration shares our goals of job creation and economic growth. But more debt, more spending, higher taxes and growing the size of government clearly has not worked—particularly in a time of double-digit unemployment.
“I hope the administration will begin to work with us to pay down the debt, reduce health care spending, and make it easier for businesses to start hiring again.”
