Each year hundreds of young people who are seriously interested in pursuing a career in the military, make application to me for a nomination to the Service Academies, some of the premier academic institutions in our country. The privilege of nominating candidates to the Academies is one which entails a great deal of responsibility. Thus, I will expect your full cooperation in complying with the requirements of my competitive nominations procedure.
