McCONNELL SECURES FUNDING FOR CYNTHIANA
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell was successful in securing $1.665 million for the Cynthiana Wastewater Treatment Plant in the Fiscal Year 2003 Omnibus Appropriations bill which was approved by the a House/Senate Conference Committee.

McConnell, a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, worked throughout the process to ensure the funding for this project received proper consideration.

The funding will be used for water and sewer disposal efforts in Cynthiana.

"These funds will help Cynthiana upgrade its Wastewater Treatment Plant and extend service to more people in the community," said McConnell. "The residents of Cynthiana deserve to have access to clean and safe water, and I was pleased to bring this money home."

The FY'03 Omnibus Appropriations bill will be approved by both houses of Congress this week. Once passed it goes to the President for his signature.
